MultiAir technology for Alfa MiTo

REVITALISED Fiat is set to showcase its new MultiAir engine technology in the Alfa Romeo MiTo range.

Featuring an advanced throttle system promising improved performance as well as reductions in fuel consumption and tailpipe emissions, the 1.4-litre MultiAir power unit will be the flagship engine in the three-door hatchback line-up.

Now available to order for delivery from spring, the new turbocharged petrol motor is being offered in 135bhp form but the top version, developing 170bhp, will carry the iconic Alfa Cloverleaf badge.

'The MultiAir engine range marks the next technological step in the successful life of the MiTo. Higher performance will add to the driving pleasure of the vehicle and active suspension will come as standard on the Cloverleaf model,' said a spokesman.

Prices will start at £15,165 for the 135bhp Lusso and the Cloverleaf - featuring 17-inch alloy wheels, model-specific mirrors and headlight surrounds and a carbon fibre effect dashboard - costs £17,895.
