Three-figure Maserati

PRICES of the first four-seater convertible to be built by Maserati are set to nudge the three-figure mark.

British aficionados of the classic Italian sports car brand will have to pay £95,630 for the GranCabrio, says Maserati GB.

Due in the showrooms in April, the 4.7-litre model with the longest wheelbase in its class reaches 62mph from standstill in 5.7 seconds and goes on to 175mph all-out.

The new car follows a long line of open-top Maserati models that began with the A6G Frua Spyder of 1950, but it is the first designed to carry four adults in comfort.

Included in a wide range of options is a bespoke four-piece leather luggage set specially tailored for the boot. It features trolley suitcases that come with leather covers for protection when they are fixed on the rear seats with security belts.
