Despite the mild winter we had been enjoying, the cold is back with a vengeance. Worse still, it’s set to continue for a while yet, and while most of the snow may have melted, the freezing temperatures should linger on for at least the rest of the month.
You might need a coat that can keep you warm and stylish. Luckily, you can wrap up warm but still look fabulous. There’s a wide range of coats for women on offer in a variety of styles and prices. We’ve picked some of the hottest trends for this season:
The Trench Coat
Part of the trend for uniforms and quasi-military styles, the trench coat is an absolute classic. Rosie Huntington-Whitely modelled the trench coat for Burberry this season and made it a major talking point. If Burberry’s out of your price range, there are plenty of classy options that look just as smart without breaking the bank.
The Parka
Faux fur is a major feature of this winter’s fashion, and what better way to marry that with a functional coat. The Parka is perfect for sub-zero temperatures, the outer surfaces of parka jackets are normally waterproof, with the inside made of insulating material, making it perfect for outdoor use in any cold environment. Designed to be functional and fashionable, a parka will make you look cool while feeling warm.
The Frock Coat
Another retro item, the frock coat has come back into fashion. Frock coats go perfectly with hats, jeans or boots and can also be accessorised with a belt to narrow the waist. Bright colours such as red, navy blue and purple are currently en vogue. Darker colours remain popular as they can create a very elegant, stylish and fashionable silhouette.
