SOMETIMES men really have got a nerve.
I was reading about Gary Bates who said he was fed up with his wife’s “nagging” so he tried to give her away in a magazine.
Grumpy Gary placed an ad in Trade-It, likening wife Donna, 40, to a CAR, describing her as “high maintenance, some rust.”
But his plan well and truly backfired as, to his amazement, the 38-year-old received a string of offers from eager men who hoped he was trading her in.
Surprisingly, kind-spirited or, for want of a better word, daft, Donna didn’t seem bothered, saying: “If you take offence at something like that, you shouldn’t be married, should you?”
If I were her I would be tempted to put an ad in Exchange and Mart for the old banger she’s married to.
