I’VE INTERVIEWED Tommy Sheridan a number of times for the paper and have to say that I wasn’t surprised when I read he was going into the Big Brother house.
To say this man is charismatic is an understatement as I was soon under his spell after my first interview and his rugged, George Clooney-esque appeal will be sure to have the nation under it too.
I almost see Tommy as a cat using up its lives and I’m sure he must be nearing number nine by now.
It will make for very interesting viewing and I’m sure he will have to try and watch every word that comes out of his mouth as it will be watched and analysed by a lot of people.
He is a charmer and I am sure it will make for unmissable telly however, I ask myself the question, is he becoming more interested in fame and the notion of becoming a celebrity and distancing himself from his dream of being a politician, that, for me, will be the real story.
And please Tommy, do not follow in the footsteps of George Galloway and start pretending you really are a cat of nine lives, drinking out of a saucer and miaowing for the camera!
