Taking the pea over past

I HAD to laugh the other day in the Irvine Herald office as there was a moment that I forgot I was 32 and felt positively young.

You see, some of the senior members of staff were reminiscing about nights out in Irvine and one colleagues was recanting a good night out in the town.

She was talking about a homemade pea van that used to be sited where the Irvine Herald office currently stands in Bank Street.

Her night out consisted of the Kings, the dancing and then hanging about with a poke of peas waiting for one of two taxi wagons in the town.

Oh dear, and they call them the good old days.
