AS A regular walker in Irvine Beach Park, along with others, I was naturally interested to read of the impending Irvine Homecoming Festival which is going to use much of the park at the beginning of May.
Like most happenings in life it will be an occasion that provides both negatives and positives.
The negatives will be well within the imagination of most Herald readers and require no further comment at this stage, but no doubt they will be raised again after the event.
Two positives come to mind. One, with a forecasted attendance of 30,000, it means that there will be adequate pairs of footwear toremove much of the dog poo that is prominent in the area.
The second is that there is sure to be a large squad of cleaners-up once the festival departs and one can hope that some will lose their way and enter places that look as if they have not seen a litter picker since the handover from IDC.
