Kilwinning youngster in title-winning form

KILWINNING’S Andrew McLaughlan was in medal-winning form at the Scottish Schools Athletics Championships at Grangemouth.

The youngster, who competes for Kilbarchan AC, took gold in the shot putt and then followed that up with silver in the hammer where he also set a new personal best.

This follows on from Andrew’s success at the Scottish Closed u17 Championships at Wishaw where Kilwinning Academy pupil Andrew threw a shot PB of 15.14m to win gold and a hammer PB to win silver. Andrew should now be representing Scotland at a variety of schools internationals during the summer.
