CLARK Drive live to fight another day after two late goals salvaged their Scottish Cup campaign and earned them a trip to Stirling this weekend.
Fosters Scottish Amateur Cup fourth round
CLARK Drive came within a whisker of going out of the cup after a lacklustre performance at home to Loganlea. The visitors cashed in on poor defending when Jamie Robertson intercepted a Jamie Cripps pass and gave keeper Kenny Pollock no chance with just ten minutes gone. Drive then missed numerous chances to equalise and Loganlea doubled their lead just after the when Robertson won the ball in midfield and made ground on the right before squaring for Neil Owen to net from close range. That finally spurred Drive into action and, with 90 minutes gone, their pressure paid off when Ricky Vance pulled one back with a great shot on the turn. It looked like a mere consolation, but straight from the restart Kevan Reid won possession, released Smith on the right and his was headed home at the back post by Morrison for a sensational equaliser.

WINLINTON Wolves crashed out of the cup after a hard-fought game between two well-matched teams. There were chances at both ends before Dumbarton Academy FPs took a rather fortunate lead when Calum Hodgart's attempt to cut out a cross only succeeded in turning the ball into his own net then, after Matthew Fulton had passed up a great chance to level the scores, the visitors almost grabbed a second own goal when home keeper Martin Fulton did well to prevent a deflection off Paul Todman from ending up in the net. Wolves passed up several good chances at the start of the second half and paid the price on the hour mark when Stevie Watson was robbed in midfield and the visitors raced straight upfield to make it 2-0. The visiting keeper had two fabulous saves from Dougie Spence as Wolves tried to get back into the game but although Mark Magorian pulled one back in 86 minutes after a Calum Hodgart effort was blocked it was too late to make any difference and Dumbarton ran out 2-1 winners.

Second Division
DEPLETED Girdle Toll United’s poor league form continued when they went down 2-0 at Minishant but league leaders Dirrans Athletic picked up another three valuable points with a battling 2-1 win at Stevenston United. There was nothing between the teams in a busy opening spell but it was United who took the lead with a 27th minute penalty. Dirrans equalised before the break when Alex Sneddon set up Lee Hunter who made no mistake from close rage and they then moved ahead three minutes after the restart with a close range Scott Milne effort. It was end to end stuff after that but neither keeper was really troubled the Kilwinning side ran out comfortable winners.
