Irvine Park brothers edge through to Scottish finals

THERE was success for Irvine Park, Blacklands and Kilwinning in the District 21 Scottish Championship Final at Ardrossan Bowling Club last week.

Irvine Park brothers Grant and Craig Prophet teamed up with Graham Williamson and Gregg Fisher (skip) to claim the Fours title with a 16-14 win over Girdle Toll's E. McColm, J. Morrison, A. Walker and I. Armstrong (skip) while in the Junior Singles, Blacklands' Alan Johnstone beat Dalry's B. Smith 21-12.

At the other end of the age scale the Senior Fours was won by Kilwinning's J. Jamieson, T. Scaife, D. Hodge and J. McPhail (skip) who enjoyed a 19-12 win over Largs Halkshill's W. Hamill, A. McMillan, A. Combe and J.McGaffney (skip).

The Blue Riband Singles event was won by West Kilbride's Hugh Montgomery who beat Girdle Toll's James Boyce 21-12, while the Pairs went to Dalry's B. Smith and D. Palmer who defeated West Kilbride's G. Price and S. Brown by 19 shots to 17.

Triples winners were Saltcoats' T. Adamson, C. Logan and J. Wilson (skip) who had a 17-7 victory over Dreghorn's J. Williamson, J. McEwan and G. Adrain (skip).

All the winners now go through to the National Finals at Ayr's Northfield Complex from July 29-August 2.
