Man arrested over death of buzzard

A man has been arrested by officers investigating the death of a buzzard.

The 62-year-old, from Whithorn in Dumfries and Galloway, was arrested in connection with a number of wildlife offences and was granted bail.

It follows an investigation into the death of the bird of prey which was discovered on Glasserton estate in Whithorn last December.

A "detailed" investigation included forensically examining the dead bird, Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary said.

The man was arrested under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.
