Man in court on sex assault charge

A man has appeared in court accused of raping a woman on her way home from a night out.

The 37-year-old woman was allegedly attacked in an area of waste ground in Dalmuir, West Dunbartonshire, in the early hours of Saturday February 16.

Scott Carrick, 29, from Clydebank, appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court and was charged with rape.

He made no plea or declaration and was granted bail.

A further court date is yet to be set.
