Police identify body found in loch

A man's body which was found in a city loch on Sunday has been identified.

The body found in Holyrood Park, Edinburgh is of 24-year-old Sanjay Dhital who lived in the city's Elm Row.

The discovery in St Margaret's Loch was made following an extensive search for the missing man.

At the weekend Lothian and Borders Police launched an operation involving Borders Underwater Search Team, Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue Team and Borders Search and Rescue Team to find Mr Dhital who was last seen in his home on Boxing Day.

There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
