Classic Clapton to play Irvine's Harbour Arts Centre

A TOP Eric Clapton tribute act will play Irvine’s Harbour Arts Centre for the first time later this month.

Classic Clapton will be performing on Saturday, February 28 from 8pm and are hoping for a sell-out crowd.

During the performance – as well as performing hits from the whole of Clapton’s career - there will be an unplugged section.

The group have been hailed as one of the best Clapton tributes with lead vocalist Mike Hall bearing an uncanny resemblance – in sound and appearance - to Eric Clapton.

He even won a look-alike competition held at Madam Tussauds in London ten years ago.

Two years later, in 2001, the group embarked upon their first major tour of UK theatres and have continued to perform gigs across the UK since then.

In 2002, they even appeared at the Glastonbury Festival.

Not only have they been a success in Britain but have also received rave reviews for gigs on the continent including playing festivals in Spain and Estonia.

Classic Clapton consists of Mike Hall, Vince Mason on drums, Paul Warren who plays keyboards and backing vocals and John Forster who is the bassist and also performs backing vocals.

The band has brought out three albums including a live CD with all three albums available to purchase at the gig in Irvine.

The members of Classic Clapton promise to give an energetic and exciting performance when they come to Irvine’s Harbour Arts Centre later this month.
