Thug jailed for Kilwinning axe threats

A THUG who threatened people in the street with an axe has been jailed for 16 months.

Steven McLean, 26, a prisoner at Barlinnie, admitted shouting and swearing, chasing others, challenging them to fight and breach of the peace in Howden Avenue and Laughlan Way, Kilwinning, in March.

McLean had 13 previous convictions, Kilmarnock Sheriff Court heard.
