Gang fractured victim's skull

A 21-YEAR-OLD man was left with a fractured skull after he was brutally attacked by a gang in Pennyburn last week.

The victim, from Liverpool, was repeatedly kicked and punched on the head and body in an underpass near Kilwinning Sports Club shortly before 10pm on Wednesday.

He was taken to Crosshouse Hospital and later transferred to the Southern General in Glasgow where he is being treated for the fractured skull and other serious head injuries. Detectives are still trying to establish his movements before the incident and are appealing for information.
