Kilwinning Academy teachers in a class of their own

BIG-HEARTED teachers at Kilwinning Academy have raised a staggering £5000 for Cancer Research UK.

The money was raised through a series of coffee mornings for the staff, at which Cancer Research volunteers helped the teachers out by providing tea, coffee and home-baking with home-made jams and preserves.

Cancer Research area volunteer Rowan Main was thrilled with their efforts: “This is a tremendous figure and Cancer Research UK is extremely grateful for this generous donation,” said Rowan.

“It’s thanks to the energy and generosity of groups like this that Cancer Research UK is able to continue its life-saving research into the disease”.

The money donated is used well as Cancer Research UK spends more than £30 million a year in Scotland alone supporting doctors, scientists and nurses all searching for new ways to beat the disease. To help or donate, please visit www.cancerresearchuk.org or call 08701 60 20 40.
