BEAUTY student Heather Weir is hoping to be crowned Miss Earth in a national contest.
The 19-year-old, who studies at James Watt College, was picked as the Miss Scotland winner in the eco-friendly competition. And now she will be heading to Warwickshire in August to try and secure a place as Miss UK and attend the grand final in Manila Philippines. The international final will be televised and Heather, of Barassie, is hoping to impress the judges.
She said: “Miss Earth is an incredible and highly respected competition.
“Entrants must be strong and effective advocates for Mother Earth – with a main objective of raising awareness of the three R’s – reduce, recycle and re-use.”
