Priest is bringing home the bacon for families in need across the world
A KILWINNING priest is giving away pigs instead of Christmas cards to his flock.
Father Gerry McGee, of St Winin’s, decided to gift pigs to families in Sudan instead of wasting money on cards for his congregation here.
It’s part of an international campaign by the Scottish Catholic International Aid Foundation, SCIAF, to help families in Third World countries.
Father Gerry said: “Cards really end up in the bin so this year I decided to offer the gift of 10 piglets to families through the SCIAF fund.
“This way the pigs will hopefully have piglets and make a lasting difference to people out there.”
