Dreghorn water to supply to be improved

A £1million investment in water mains will see Dreghorn’s water supply improve over the coming months.

The £1.1m investment is set to improve 18 miles of water mains in Dreghorn, reaching thousands in Dreghorn and across North Ayrshire.

Around 4000 Scottish Water customers are set to benefit from the multi-million pound scheme that will improve about 700 miles of water pipes in Ayrshire.

The project should be completed in around three months. Upgrade work on some stretches of water mains in Dreghorn was started late last year but was stopped due to the festive period.

The improvement work on the mains, which includes some re-lining of the pipes, will require some traffic management. Sections of all four streets at the crossroads in the centre of Dreghorn will be temporarily reduced from two lanes to one.

For a four-week period, temporary traffic lights will be in operation at the crossroads of the four streets. These lights will be manually operated from 7am to 10am and 3pm to 6pm each day.
