Irvine mums are the least spoiled on Mother's Day

Mums in Irvine were treated to a less than lavish Mother’s Day last Sunday.

A survey found that people in Irvine spent less on their mums than any other area in Scotland with an average spend of just £10.95.

The survey, conducted by online beauty retailer Escentual.com, found that Paisley was the most generous town, spending about £62.40.

As a whole, however, Scotland spent less on Mother’s Day than the rest of the UK with £36.75 compared to £41.23.

Despite all of this, Escentual.com CEO, Rakesh Aggarwal, said: “It’s the thought that counts on Mother’s Day, so any presents given will always be cherished.”
