Firemen to hold a charity dinner

The Fire Fighters Charity is holding a fundraising evening in Irvine in April.

The Sportsman’s Dinner take places at the Menzies Hotel with proceeds going to the charity. Speakers at the dinner on Saturday, April 6, include Andy Cameron, John Gahagan, Scott Glynn and Bill Copeland.

The charity helps current and former fire service staff throughout the UK, as well as their dependents through injury, illness and also bereavement.

Organiser Station Commander Derek Davidson of Ardrossan Fire Station said: “This event is for a tremendous cause helping countless individuals and families in times of need.

“It will be a fantastic night with great entertainment from four very funny speakers.

“The public always give their community fire fighters terrific support and anyone who would like to come along is very welcome – it’s not restricted to fire service personnel.

“We also want people to know it’s not a male-only event, anyone and any group can buy tickets and help raise vital funds for a charity helping those who help others.”

Tickets for the night cost £45 each or £400 for a table of 10. The price includes a three-course dinner with tea/coffee. The hotel are offering a special event tariff of £50 per room (not per person) and that includes a full Scottish Breakfast.
