Green home improvements are set to change the way energy is used across Irvine.
Irvine Housing Association is urging tenants who wish to sign up the the government’s new Green Deal to get in touch with the association.
Tenants have to contact IHA to get permission to have energy saving work carried out.
The scheme, that was launched earlier this month, allows tenants to pay for improvements over time through their electricity bill.
The Green Deal loans can be used for improvements such as loft insulation, solar panels, draft proofing and solid wall insulation.
The loans are repaid over a period of 10 to 25 years through additions to electricity bills, and are outweighed by the savings from low energy use.
