Two Irvine bands are urging their hometown to help them win prestigious music awards.
Both Culann and What the Blood Revealed have been nominated for a Scottish Alternative Music Award but need the Irvine Herald readers’ help.
Award winners are decided by a public vote that’s open now.
But voting for the awards is set to close on Wednesday, February 20.
Culann are in the running for the Best Rock award and fellow Irvine band What the Blood Revealed have been nominated for the Best Metal award.
Culann admitted that they’re facing tough opposition in their group: “We hope every one of you can help us win it.
They added: “We hope we can do everyone here proud.”
The Culann guys face Baby Strange, Duke, Fat Goth, Cleavers and M A D I S O N in a bid to take home the Best Rock title.
The hotly contested Best Metal category will see What the Blood Revealed go up against Bear Arms, Lords of B******, Prelude to the Hunt, Sectioned, and Trial and Error.
Other categories open for voting, include Best Live Act, Best Electronic, Best Newcomer, Best Hip-Hop and Best Acoustic. Winners will be announced at a ceremony held in Glasgow’s Garage on Friday, March 8, hosted by Irvine comic Billy Kirkwood.
