Lorraine Howard column

This week’s weakness is the glamorous world of the awards’ show.

And I’m not just talking about the A-list crammed Oscars or Emmy or British Bafta events.

Heavens, I even get excited about the National TV Awards.

On Sunday night, well, Monday morning our time, I was up late tuning into The Golden Globes.

These awards, almost a warm up for the ulitmate gong show - The Oscars, ooze glamour, celebrities and let’s be honest, it’s pure Hollywood.

I confess, I feel more than a little shallow admitting it but I get excited at watching the beautiful people arrive in their gowns and Bulgari diamonds.

And I’ve worked out I must suffer from red carpet syndrome.

From the moment the celebrities step out their limos in their haute couture outfits, I’m hooked.

It’s ridiculous, I mean I will probably never attend such a ceremony but in my head I have been there a thousand times.

It’s so shallow and in the scale of life, very unimportant but ever since I can remember I have loved all award shows.
