Let's dance for Zumba Gold with Sandra Angus

We all know how easy it is to come up with excuses not to exercise – we are too busy, too unfit, too tired, too shy and perhaps, had a few too many mince pies.

And then in some cases we may think we are too old for Zumba.

Well, forget all these excuses, folks as they are no longer valid as the clever people who created the Zumba fitness programme, bring you Zumba Gold. I am one of the few Zumba Gold instructors in this area so let me tell you why I love teaching this class.

It takes its Latin-dance rhythms from the original Zumba but these are modified especially for you.

Unlike the original Zumba where the instructor directs the class using non-verbal visual cues, the Zumba Gold instructor uses a combination of visual and verbal cues plus visual and verbal coaching.

As well as that, the class offers motivating music, great moves and simple, flowing transitions allowing you to release the inner diva in you.

Zumba Gold is great for your self-esteem and in this miserable grey weather, the fabulous music transports you to exotic places.

You will be amazed how your fitness improves and don’t worry if you can’t dance – just keep moving and enjoy.Come along and let yourself go, it’s brilliant fun.

●Sandra teaches Zumba Gold classes at St John’s Parish Church, Kilmarnock on Mondays from 10am to 11am and Wednesdays at St Margaret’s Church, Dalry, from 5.45pm to 6.45pm.
