It’s not often you get the chance to meet a real life domestic goddess.
But downstairs in our office, Kilmarnock Standard reporter Clair Fullarton is one of these superwomen.
Not only is she a busy journalist but also a mum to Lucy and a wife to Darren.
And on top of all that, this girl is a fabulous cook.
Her passion for food is something that I only recently discovered while she was telling me about her blog, Clair’s Kitchen.
In this blog she shares all her recipes and meals she makes for her family and honestly, this girl is a wonder in the kitchen.
Her love and passion for her cooking and her practical advice for amateurs like myself make for great reading and I find myself logging in every day just to find out what Clair and her family had for the night before’s tea.
I’m determined to try making soup, I love soup and think it would be a great way of saving money but also keeping healthy.
At the moment my cooking skills are limited to a pot of chilli, spaghetti bolognese, peppered chicken and a mean Pot Noodle.
I should also add at this point I have a kitchen full of Nigella Lawson recipe books which I love to read but rarely attempt to make anything from.
I have to be completely honest and admit to feeling a little inadequate compared to Clair.
But her enthusiasm is infectious and she has already given me some one-pot wonder recipes to have a go at making.
