Who stole Santa?

Staff at a Kilwinning car wash couldn’t believe it when they locked up on Saturday night to find their giant Santa was missing.

And owner Kris McLaughlin is convinced the festive mascot, who took pride of place outside KML Carwash in Stevenston Road, was nicked during the day. “We were locking up at around 5pm on Saturday night when we noticed Santa had gone,” said Kris.

“The thieves must have taken him around 4.30pm as one staff member remembers seeing him before that time.

“It’s a shame as Santa has been with us since the first Christmas we opened and the kids love to see him stand proudly at the entrance with his bucket and sponge.

“I can’t believe someone would be able to take him in broad daylight, what happened to the spirit of Christmas in Kilwinning?

“Please bring him back.”
