MUSICIAN Frank Reader and his band The Trash Can Sinatras, say they have been inspired by Irvine for songs on their new album.
In The Music, will be released in September, with new single, I Wish, on July 27 and this heralds the comeback of the Ayrshire indie rockers.
Frank even had a hand from his sister, Eddi Reader, in writing new material for the album that fans have waited five years for.
The band recorded the album in Glasgow and two of the tracks are inspired by life growing up in Irvine.
Singer John Douglas said: “Its five years since Weightlifting came out, we toured it for two years, then we started coming back down to earth and Frank was inspired by Irvine for two of the tracks.
“Mostly we’ve been just writing and playing and I guess Eddi Reader co-writing plus fellow writers Paul Livingston and Frank Reader in long-term relationships with new partners, there is a bit of a feminine addition to this record too.”
