THE team who look after the five blocks of high flats in Irvine have won a top award.
The concierge team – who also monitor a CCTV system in housing developments in Irvine, Bourtreehill and Saltcoats – have been awarded the new Customer Service Excellence Award.
Formerly known as the Charter Mark, the new award focuses more on the client and their experience of the service.
The Irvine based service consists of 12 officers who act as caretakers at the flats.
This week housing chief Olga Clayton said: “This award involves extremely high levels of achievement in various sectors of the service from the satisfaction of the residents to the method by which the service is delivered.”
The team was judged on their rapport with residents and visitors, cleanliness, the level of assistance, flexibility and a good working relationship with partner organisations.
Area housing manager Craig McEwing said: “We work very closely with the police and fire service as well as the anti-social behaviour team and tenant participation groups.
“We’re thrilled at picking up this award which is really a benchmark for Scotland.”
Award assessor Rob Sullivan said judges were impressed at the way residents and visitors alike spoke of improvements to their way of life since the introduction and development of the service.
