Search for North Ayrshire's young top volunteers

VOLUNTEERS from across North Ayrshire are to be recognised at a plush awards ceremony in Irvine.

The Volunteer Centre North Ayrshire will be hosting the annual MV Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, November 4, at Irvine’s Gailes Hotel.

MV Awards are Scottish Government endorsed awards that recognise the contribution that the army of volunteers make to the community.

The awards are available for 50,100 and 200 hours of volunteering with the 200 Hour Award of Excellence being signed personally by the First Minister for Scotland, Alec Salmond.

Anne-Marie Sim, of the Volunteer Centre, said: “The MV Awards are an excellent way of rewarding and recognising the valuable volunteering work of young people.

“Volunteering can take many forms such as befriending and mentoring to environmental and radio work.

“If you know of a young person that you would like to nominate for an award please contact myself or Charlotte Mitchell on: 01294 277300 or email: info@vcna.org.uk

The closing date for nominations is October 24, 2008.
