Young gymnast David is given a real cash lift

CHARITY show band VEIN made sure Dreghorn gymnast David Weir took a huge step towards his dream of competing in the 2014 Commonwealth Games with a cheque for £800.

The 10-year-old, of Staffa Court, has been invited to a week-long training course at the Lilleshall National Sports Centre next month and, said, gymnastics supremo Trevor Low, hopefully this will be the forerunner to David joining the full Great Britain team.
