MUMS and dads have been cooking up a storm.
The Irvine parents were given the opportunity to learn some top cookery skills at a six-week course run by the North Ayrshire Young Persons Support Team.
During the course the group of mums and dads were given some red-hot tips from professional chef Gary Difolco, from Saltcoats’ Corran Inn, on how to rustle-up tasty and healthy family meals as cheaply as possible.
Irvine’s Sainsburys provided all the ingredients for the sessions and Irvine Royal Academy provided the venue and all the necessary equipment and utensils.
The group of budding chefs were also given swimming lessons, courtesy of KA Leisure, after most of them said they couldn’t swim.
Now, all parents who attended the cookery course will receive vouchers to pay towards their Christmas meal in return for all of their hard work slaving over a hot stove!
