MSP Margaret McDougall joins ‘Mo Sistas’ to help fight prostate cancer.
McDougall, Labour MSP for the West Region, has supported her male colleagues in Holyrood and thousands of ‘Mo Bros’ across Scotland during Movember to help change the face of men’s health.
She joined a number of ‘Mo Sistas’ in supporting MSPs, staff and the wider public in the month-long razor rest to grow and groom a moustache as part of Movember.
Movember – which aims to ‘change the face of men’s health, one moustache at a time’ – has chosen Prostate Cancer UK as its principal partner and beneficiary for funds raised in the UK.
First time “Mo Sista” McDougall said: “I’m proud to support Movember, it is a hugely successful campaign that raises awareness of prostate cancer and raises millions of pounds to fund vital research in to looking for new treatments as well as enchaining care and support.
“Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in Scottish men and is predicted to be the most common cancer overall by 2030.
“It is therefore incredibly important that we do all we can to ensure all men affected by the disease get the care and support they need.”
Owen Sharp, chief executive of Prostate Cancer UK, said: “It’s great that Margaret McDougall has joined me and thousands of Mo Bro’s and Mo Sista’s across Scotland in supporting Movember and Prostate Cancer UK.
