Culann close to album launch

Irvine band Culann are close to selling out one of Glasgow’s most famous venues for their forthcoming album launch.

The five-piece are set to play King Tuts next week on Friday, December 21 to launch their debut record.

The band are now insisting that fans get their tickets soon – or they could miss out.

The band’s vocalist and guitarist PJ Kelly said:“We were given quite a sizable allocation of tickets for the album launch, and we are almost sold out now!

“To sell out of tickets would be unreal, and we’re quite close to that.”

Culann’s album was recently mastered by Jon Astley, best known for his mastering work with The Who, Led Zeppelin and George Harrison.

“The album is being pressed at the moment and we couldn’t be happier with the sound.

“Our guitarist mixed the songs and we started to look for places to master it.

“When we emailed Jon Astley, we would never have thought he would work with us but we asked anyway.

“Turned out he really liked the music and was happy to do so,” he added.

Culann’s album launch is set to take place at King Tuts, Glasgow, on Friday, December 21, with doors opening at 7pm.
