More than 60 representatives from community groups heard how North Ayrshire Council could help them develop their skills and expertise during a special event.
Representatives from community, voluntary and third sector groups were in attendance at the council’s Straight Talking About event, which took place last Thursday, November 29.
The leader of North Ayrshire Council, Councillor Willie Gibson, said: “It was really encouraging to see the enthusiasm and commitment shown by local groups.
“It’s about listening to community, voluntary and third sector groups to see how we can work best together.
The special event involved the participation of workshops covering subjects such as external funding, volunteering and support from the council.
North Ayrshire Council’s chief executive Elma Murray said: “The event was an opportunity for local groups to talk to the council about our long-term financial situation and the issues that matter to them.
“The overall feedback from the groups and their representatives was very positive and encouraging for the future.
“Like every other local authority in Scotland and the rest of the public sector, we face some extremely tough financial challenges which will impact on the delivery of services.
