IHA Staff raise over £5k for Barnardo’s

Staff at Irvine Housing Association have raised over £5000 for children’s charity Barnardo’s.

The Housing Association raised money through a series of fundraising events including a Sportsman’s dinner and a charity cycle from London to Paris.

Members of the cycle team, John Brennan, Frank Boyle and Iain Gillan, presented children’s service manager for Barnardo’s North Ayrshire Families, Jim Durning, with a cheque on Monday, November 26.

Mr Durning commented that this is a great achievement for the Association.

“Barnardo’s works with children, young people and families and generous donations like this allow us to bring added value to the support we offer by enabling us to do that little bit extra.”

Paul Hillard, managing director at Irvine Housing Association, said: “All staff really got on board arranging activities and events in support of the charity.

“The cycle was definitely the highlight for me and the others that took part. A great experience for a great cause.

“It’s fantastic to see the money raised going to a charity that supports families and children in our local area,” he added.

Staff at the Association are now busy fundraising for their new nominated charity, The AQ Trust.
