Kilwinning is set to be transformed into a winter wonderland this weekend.
Community-minded Colin Young will bring Christmas to Kilwinning early to make it a party the town never forgets.
There will be an ice rink, a ski slope and even snow in what promises to be the biggest wonderland event Woodwynd has ever seen.
Of course, Santa himself will be in residence complete with a grotto for the youngsters to visit.
And Colin is asking Woodwynd residents to light up their windows with Christmas decorations in a bid to make that area of the town festive.
“We wanted to make this happen last year but we decided to wait until this year,” said Colin.
“This is for the whole town and beyond, it’s going to show the world what a community spirit we have in Kilwinning.
“And I am telling you, it is going to be brilliant.
“We have a ski-slope coming, an ice rink, stalls, raffles, snow, we are going to transform the Woodwynd Hall into a festive funfair.
“Now, I know it’s early as it’s only November but we decided why not throw a party early, everyone could do with having their spirits lifted.
“People have no money, let’s be honest, we have to make sure the people in our community are given a weekend to remember.
“Everything has been kept at low prices to make sure families can afford to come.
“I ask that anyone who stays on the bus route decorates one window of their house to help with the effect of a Woodwynd winter wonderland.
“We have tried to keep costs down as much as possible and funding has helped us but it won’t be anything without the support of the community.”
The Woodwynd Winter Wonderland festival runs this Saturday, November 17 and Sunday, November 18 at the hall.
On Saturday, the fun kicks off at 11am until 8pm and then on Sunday from 11am until 5pm.
