Irvine travel agant wins top award

An Irvine travel agent has won a luxurious holiday after winning a top travel award.

Twenty-four-year-old Richard Grant and a team of Ayrshire agents competed in a nationwide Sandals competition in London.

Richard along with Lynda Ross from the Kilmarnock branch and Alison Craig from the Ayr branch won a week-long Caribbean holiday for two after coming second in the Jamaican-based resort’s quiz.

Richard said: “I’m delighted. The quiz was quite difficult but the prize was well worth it.”

“One of the questions was to name the 20 different room types that Sandals offer!”

King World Travel director Linda Boyd said:

“We are absolutely delighted and very proud of the achievement which saw the team take first place out of all the Scottish entries as well as coming second overall in the UK.
