Irvine Beat FM look for young presenters

Irvine Beat FM are set to givelocal youngsters a helping hand by creating a training facility designed to develop their radio and media skills.

Managing Director, Ronnie McGhie, says that the facility with give prospective students an edge when they apply for increasingly competitive places on media courses.

Ronnie said: “We will be working in partnership with Greenwood Academy and James Watt College to help provide people with industry standard skills that employers look for in radio presenters, broadcasters and journalists.”

He added: “By learning on ­state-of-the-art equipment and being trained by people who have years of experience within the media industry, anyone looking to establish a career in radio or journalism will be in a great position when they apply to college or university.”

Irvine Beat FM are currently awaiting a response from Ofcom to confirm whether the station will be granted a five-year licence.
